It’s Advent – where did November go?

We’ve been busy! On November 10th, we gave a concert at St John’s Anglican (Lunenburg) hosted by the Hon. J.J. Grant, Lt. Governor of Nova Scotia.

In between our morning rehearsal and the evening concert, Nick and Liz hosted the choir for lunch in their new home on the South Shore. There was time to explore outside as well.

In Capella Regalis, a boy’s singing career doesn’t end when his voice changes, and former prefect Luke made his concert debut in the men’s section that night.

Two days later, on November 12, we had our annual Investiture Service. At this service we formally welcomed 5 new boys into the choir: Liam, Riley, Abush, Makye, and North. We also appointed our prefects for the year, Alistair and Phineas; and our Head Boy, Gabe.

Last Sunday, November 25, six of our boys joined Dinuk Wijerante, the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, The King’s Chorus, and soloists Susan Boddie, Andrew Pickett and Ross Thompson in a sold out performance of Carmina Burana.

Our next big event is our annual Christmas concert, To Bethlehem with Kings. This year, we’re taking the concert on the road to Windsor (Christ Church Anglican) on Friday December 21, Lunenburg (St John’s Anglican Church) on Saturday December 22, and Halifax (First Baptist Church) on December 23. All concerts start at 7pm. Ticket prices vary, please see our Events page for ticket pricing and purchase details.

Our final Evensong for the term will be this Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the King’s College Chapel,6350 Coburg Road, Halifax. Music by Boris Ord, C. V. Stanford, William Byrd and J.S. Bach.
