We also hold a number of seats for community service organizations, which may make group bookings by emailing [email protected] or calling (902) 703-3938.

Walk-ups are welcome, but will be seated in the Great Choir section of the Cathedral, behind performers.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on concert day. Seating in the Nave (in front of performers) and Transepts (to the side of performers) will be held for those who have advance seat reservations. Seating in the Great Choir section (behind performers) will be for walk-ups at the door on the day-of. Please arrive early on concert day to ensure desired seating. 

PLEASE NOTE: On concert day, the doors open at 3 pm, and the concert begins at 4 pm. All seat reservations must be checked in by 3:45 pm. Any reservations not claimed by 3:45 pm will be given to attendees next in line at the door.

ABOUT OUR GUEST SOLOISTS:

Sinead White

Sinéad White is an Irish-born soprano now living in Halifax who is praised for her "luminous soprano" (The Whole Note), "gorgeous and subtle vocal palette" (La Scena Musicale), "soft and dreamy vocals" (Oxford Daily Info, UK) and "lovely, precise coloratura" (OperaRamblings). Sinéad maintains an active performing and teaching schedule in North America, and performs regularly with ensembles such as the Elora Singers, Toronto Mendelssohn Singers, Theatre of Early Music, the Toronto Bach Festival and Tafelmusik Orchestra & Chamber Choir. A graduate of McGill University, she is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Historical Performance at the University of Toronto. 

Francis Bamford

Francis Bamford is a British countertenor currently studying for a Master of Music in Voice at the Royal College of Music. Francis read Music at the University of Cambridge, where he was a Choral Scholar in the Choir of St John’s College, studying singing with Andrew Watts. Whilst at Cambridge, he participated in masterclasses with leading singers including Iestyn Davies, Lucy Crowe and Miriam Allen, and was a scholar on the Sir Arthur Bliss Lieder Scheme, receiving coaching from Joseph Middleton. Francis is a keen recitalist, equally at home in lute song or Romantic lieder. Most recently, he has been a SongEasel Young Artist, and a finalist in the Ashburnham English Song Awards. Alongside his studies, Francis continues to perform as a choral and consort singer. He is a VOCES8 Scholar for 2024-5, and sings with various London church choirs and ensembles including the choirs of Temple Church, Westminster Cathedral, and Southwark Cathedral – where he is a Lay Clerk. Francis currently studies with Ben Johnson and Stephen Varcoe.

Philippe Gagné

Philippe Gagné, tenor, is praised for his rich expressivity, refined musical sensitivity, rare vocal agility, and the beauty of his timbre. Specializing in the Baroque repertoire, he has performed on many of the world's great stages and worked with a number of renowned ensembles, including Les Talens Lyriques, Tafelmusik, Les Violons du Roy, Les Voix humaines, Arion Orchestre Baroque, Ensemble Masques, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, L'Harmonie des saisons, Ensemble Caprice, Le Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, and many others. He is recognized as an exceptional interpreter of the French Baroque repertoire, as well as the music of J. S. Bach. 

Alex Dobson

Alexander Dobson is a British-Canadian baritone who has been praised for his musical and dramatic artistry on both opera and concert stages, having performed major roles in innumerable productions with Florentine Opera, L’Opera de Montréal, Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, and many others. As Opera Canada wrote of him: “Dobson, one of the most impressive Canadian baritones of this generation, is a wonderful actor and has a beautiful, rich and commanding voice, that is also as smooth as silk.” Alexander graduated from the University of Toronto Opera Division and the Faculty of Music at the University of Western Ontario with Honours. Last Fall, he began teaching Applied Voice at Mount Allison University. An ardent singer since childhood, Alexander's solo début was at twelve years old, as a treble soloist in the Canadian premiere of Lloyd Webber's Requiem under conductor Elmer Iseler.
