Announcing our 2015-2016 Season

Oct 25, 2015

Welcome to our 2015 -2016 season!

Capella Regalis continues to develop with some new faces on staff, in the choir, and a new regular venue for our Tuesday Evensongs.

In mid-October, Tuesday Choral Evensongs moved to All Saints' Cathedral. This gives the choir the experience of singing in the Cathedral acoustic on a weekly basis. The choir continues to rehearse at the University of King's College and maintains its connection there. The Service of Investiture for new choristers will be part of Choral Evensong on Tuesday November 3rd.

In October, the choir was invited to be part of a film project of The Nova Scotia Nature Trust on Troop Island in St Margaret's Bay. Mike from the St Margaret's Bay Stewardship Association gave the choir an introduction to the Island before they hiked through the woods to the filming location in the old growth forest.

The next day the choir sang Evensong at St Andrew's in Hantsport, NS and were warmly welcomed by the community. One member of the congregation sent us this lovely note:

I attended the Capella Regalis service in Hantsport the other evening. I just wanted to say how very much I enjoyed the music. I have heard the choir(s) before in Windsor and in Halifax. I don't know if it was the acoustics or the content, but they (to my ear) had never sounded better! The voices were so uplifting and inspiring. I realize that we are in an out of the way spot... we have taken many hard hits lately, so it was especially meaningful that you would take the trouble to come here. As a former music teacher, I was in awe of the attentiveness of the youngest boys. It was obvious how dedicated they were and how genuine their love of music is. Thank you for bringing this to our community.

Save the dates!
