Rhythm

    Overview

    This episode covers whole, half, and quarter note values, and explains what a dot does to a note’s value. You will practice clapping whole, half, quarter and other beats.

    Please watch the video tutorial. Then check your understanding with the quiz! If you answer all the questions correctly, you are ready to move on to Episode 2. If you do not understand all the questions and answers, you should re-watch Episode 1 (click on it again in the left side menu) before moving on.

    Subdivision is basically putting something inside of a pulse to give you more information.
    Why would you subdivide a pulse?
    To develop a good sense of pulse, we have to resist the natural instinct to rush.
